Actor Kiefer Sutherland pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of DUI (driving under the influence) on 10.09.07. The 24 star was charged after police witnessed him making an illegal U-turn in Los Angeles on September 25.A breath test allegedly found him to have twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Kiefer will be taken to a County Jail when he is officially sentenced on December 21, to immediately start serving his 18-day sentence.
He will have until July 1 next year to serve the remaining 30 days, so it will not interfere with filming on his Emmy award-winning TV show “24″ - in which he plays Counter Terrorist Unit Agent Jack Bauer.
In addition to jail time, the 40-year-old actor must enroll on a 18-month alcohol education course and attend weekly alcohol counsellings sessions for six months.
He will also be on probation for five years. |
